Naples, Florida – often referred to as “Paradise”, “Fairyland”, “La-la Land” and certainly, GOLFland!
With over 200 golf course communities it’s no wonder this city is the answer to every golfers dream.
Often buyers are hesitant to live in a golf community because they feel it would be too costly. This is untrue, since there are more “equity” golf communities than “private”.
With equity or “bundled” golf, the membership is part of the home purchase, so there is no initiation or hefty membership fee. Each homeowner is required to pay annual dues, which vary depending on the size and age of the club.
Clubs allow the transfer of memberships to renters should anyone be interested in leasing thier home or condominium.
The membership cap at equity clubs runs from 500-1200 on either 18 or 27 holes.
The types of housing available in equity golf communities include condominiums, villas, and homes. Most of these communities are gated.
Private Golf Clubs
If private golf clubs are your preference, there are an abundance of them.
Many of these clubs offer a variety of housing including condominiums, villas, zerolot-line homes, as well as very large estate homes.
For the most part, pricing in these communities starts in the $250,000 range, up to multi-millions for “estate” homes.
Only a few of the private clubs have “mandatory” golf membership.
Others have options for “social” and/or “tennis” memberships if buyers do not wish to play golf. A few of the very exclusive clubs have “waiting lists”.
The membership “caps” in private golf clubs are far less than in bundled golf clubs. They run from 250-600 members per 18 holes.
The Club facilities in every community are second to none with top-notch dining, tennis, and exercise facilities, heated Olympic size swimming pools and activities directors who plan endless numbers of social events. These communities are all gated.
